Village Imam fled because of HDP/PKK crackdown
Crackdown on Imam made him leave the village when there emerge two dissident votes in the election in a village of Kiziltepe in Mardin province.
Halil Ozdemir, an imam in Orencik( Xarapkurka) village was obliged to leave the village over the HDP/PKK oppression.
Halil Ozdemir who has been the imam of the village which was under the control of HDP/PKK for nearly three years, has been targeted by HDP/PKK for not making propaganda of them and not calling their dead as martyr in his sermons.
When it came out two votes were cast for two opposites, this became the last straw for HDP/PKK mentality. Imam Halil Ozdemir resorted to leave the village when the rumors spread in the village; his kids subjected to verbal harassment and had suspicions about his life security.
Imam Ozdemir talked to Ilke news Agency about the distress he suffered from HDP/PKK ill mentality after moved to Kiziltepe.
HDP/PKK ideology is dominant in the village
Emphasizing that his mission is telling of Islam to the people, Imam Ozdemir said that, “I was appointed as an Imam to the Orencik (Xarapkurka) village three years ago. As it is my duty I carried out my Islamic services in the village. All we have to disseminate Islam and live it. As our prophet said “scholars are Prophets’ successors.” In the light of this hadith my part was telling Islam in the village. In my first year 4 or 5 children came to the mosque and read the whole of the Qur’an. I wanted to continue to that but I couldn’t. There was almost no one in the village coming to Morning, Noon, Afternoon, Evening and Isha prayer because HDP/PKK ideology is dominant in the village.”
“They were associating me affiliated with ISIS”
Stating that because he gave lessons on a request from one of his Imam friends who had some tests, pro HDP/PKK villagers spread rumors that he was lecturing for ISIS members, imam Ozdemir said, “Imam from Kiziltepe Yeni Bugday Pazari mosque had to take tests and asked me for giving lessons his students, thereupon I went to his madrassah to give lessons for a week but some of pro HDP/PKK villagers spread gossiping about me saying ‘Our imam is giving lesson to ISIS’ As I went back to the village I told them that ISIS isn’t an Islamic movement and I have no any relationship with ISIS, I just gave lessons to children of the neighborhood in the Madrassah. Even if you don’t believe me you can go to his mosque and listen to his preaches. And I always condemn the savagery comes from anyone.”
“They were asking whether APO (Ocalan) is a Prophet or dead PKK members are martyr”
Some of the pro HDP/PKK villagers come to me asking whether Apo is a prophet! (Far from it). I answered them that, “Muhammad (pbuh) was the last messenger and no other prophet would come after Him.Qura’an is the last holy book and decrees of Qur’an will remain till the day of judgement. Apo is an ordinary man nothing more.” And some others insisted me upon to call dead of PKK members as martyr in my sermons. One day two youths told me “You aren’t real Imams of this time. We asked another imams whether dead PKK members are martyr or not some of them say yes but some other say no , now you answer us whether they are martyr or not ? I said those who were killed for cause Allah are martyrs. They weren’t satisfied with my answers, thus they haven’t liked me at all as I have never praised them nor have made their propaganda. As you know PKK has slaughtered many people with guns or mines cruelly.”
“Pro HDP/PKK members by-passed the headman of the village”
After PKK committees had been established in the village the head of the village was by-passed and was told to stay away the affairs.
"I was turned into target when there were 2 votes except HDP"
Stating that it was declared by them that there mustn’t be any vote except for HDP, Ozdemir said that, “They didn’t let a free election done in the village, indeed people couldn’t reflect their free will to ballot boxes because they were constantly threatening by PKK militants though when it was seen two votes cast one of which was for HUDA PAR and the other one was for AK Party, they began to spread threat rumors about me and my children were subjected by verbally harassment. And hereby I want to complain this that government left people on their mercy (!). And government terminated itself in the region.”
“I had to leave the village for not having life security”
Indicating that “I had no chance to do my Islamic duties especially after the election so I had to leave the village” Ozdemir said that,” I have never had a politic relationship with anyone but I just try to do my Islamic services through my occupation but this is so difficult to do these services in pro PKK villages. After elections I was targeted for being a dissident voted for another party except HDP. I didn’t see any life safety for me and for my family so I had to leave the village.”
Stating that Muslims must support each other Ozdemir ended his words saying, “Muslims must be in solidarity. Unfortunately Islamic world is invaded by infidels and Muslims have backslide which Kuffar shaped it. They always wanted to impose their wrong ideology to Muslims to replace with Islam.” (ILKHA)
