'Meeting of scholars in Holy Birth celebration'
Asst. Prof. Davut Işıkdoğan who evaluated Holy Birth celebration held in Diyarbakır, stated scholars those came from Islamic countries shows the Union of Islam.
Professor of Divinity School of Theology in Dicle University, Asst. Prof. Davut Işıkdoğan said that Muslims cheered up with the activity in his evaluation related to the Holy Birth event held in Newruz Park Rally Site by Prophet Lovers Platform on Sunday under the theme of “Prophet Muhammad, the Guide to Right and Justice”.
Expressing that the those activities should be organized in different parts of the world, Asst. Prof. Işıkdoğan stated that scholars came from Islamic countries shows the Union of Islam.
Işıkdoğan expressed that Holy Birth events were celebrated in Diyarbakır in different atmosphere in recent years, “Activities have been out for a day and a week and spread over a month. This, conduce to people to feel some spiritual in a month period, to remember the Prophet, His life, His Sunnah once again. This is a very beautiful event and the fact that participation is great is actually a morale for Muslims.”
“Choice of such a title at a time when serious violations are at stake is right on target”
Işıkdoğan added that he found the chosen theme of this year very meaningfully, “Right and justice are two basic issues in the Qur'an. When we say right; it includes the right of the people, the right of the Allah to the people, the duty of the people to the Almighty Allah. At this point there is something that draws my attention: we put different themes for Holy Birth every year, and there are many activities in the framework of these themes. The work of the emergence of the manifestations of these themes on the public must continue. The choice of such a title is a huge right on target in a time when people are ignoring each other, destroying, continuing wars, and having very serious violations at the point of right and law. Parallel to this, there was also the theme of ‘trust’ which the Diyanet put. When you bring trust, right, and justice together, these are some things that are complementary. The Platform of Prophet's Love is not an alternative but a complementary point.”
“Gathering of scholars from the Islamic world is a sign that we meet on a common point”
Evaluating the participation from different Islamic countries to the event, Işıkdoğan continued his words as follows:
“When we look at Europe, there is a papacy institution that brings the world states together. In the course of the past few months, when Europe was facing with a number of crises, Pope gathered the leaders of the members of the European Union countries together and gave them a consultation, perhaps a religious ultimatum. We also have a unifying component which is the religion. There is nothing in the head of the individual in the sense of this unifying element of this religion. At this point, there is something called ‘council’ when we look at the main theme of the Qur'an. The fact that all the scholars gather and come from the Islamic world in this way is a sign that we come together on a common point in fact that each comes here like an individual representative. We actually need to evaluate them.”
Emphasizing that Holy Birth activities in different parts of the world should be done says Işıkdoğan, “The activity itself is a beautiful thing. It is a very nice thing that Muslims come together to live that spirit. It is a very nice thing to reveal the conversation to our Prophet. After putting out the conversation, it needs to be done in the same way. After these events ends, we should not be able to say ‘we are done’. (M. Hüseyin Temel / Emrah Deniz - ILKHA)
