Drawing attention to the recent attempt to pump up the debate on “moderate Islam”, President Erdoğan said: “Who does the patent of this ‘moderate Islam’ concept belong to? To the West.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended and delivered a speech at the Certificate Presentation Ceremony of the Leadership and Entrepreneurship Program for Young Women, organized by the Ministry of Family and Social Policies and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's Advisory Women’s Council.
“A world without justice cannot have peace and welfare”
Citing as an example the fact that the decision to apply sanctions on Rakhine due to the oppression and violence imposed upon Muslims was not approved because China as a member of the UN Security Council vetoed it, President Erdoğan underscored that the fate of the whole world cannot be condemned to the decisions of 5 permanent members and added, “You must see that this cannot be a fair structure. Justice is the foundation of any state but there is no justice here. A world without justice reigned under double standards cannot have peace and welfare.”
Underlining that the struggle of Turkey is the struggle of all those who are oppressed, marginalized and reduced to silence, President Erdoğan stated, “Nobody can expect from us to stay silent and unresponsive in the face of this injustice because according to our faith, consenting to oppression is in itself oppression. I believe that you, my young friends, will act with this awareness and support this holy struggle for global peace and justice.”
“Islam is one; there is no moderate or non-moderate Islam”
Drawing attention to the recent attempt to pump up the debate on “moderate Islam”, President Erdoğan said: “Who does the patent of this ‘moderate Islam’ concept belong to? To the West. Maybe, the person who said that thinks it belongs to him. No, it does not.”
Underscoring that there cannot be moderate or non-moderate Islam, President Erdoğan said: “Islam is one and unique.” President Erdoğan urged against such attempts aimed at weakening Islam. (ILKHA)
