Ali Ekber Velayeti, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's foreign policy advisor and head of the Strategic Research Center for Islamic Regeneration Diagnosis Council, reacted to the Myanmar government's massacres against Arakan Muslims, saying that the racist and genocidal politics are on a hiding to nothing.
Responding to the inhuman situation faced by Arakanese Muslims, Velayeti criticized Myanmar's governing body, Aung San Suu Kyi, saying, “These racist, genocidal policies are on a hiding to nothing.”
Speaking about the brutal slaughter of Muslims in Myanmar, Velayeti said, “The massacres against Muslims in Myanmar are unacceptable and the reasons for the massacres are unacceptable. For centuries Muslims have lived there and now they are coming out of their racist politics, saying that they were not there a few thousand years ago. Now a person in power, a woman who supports violence and massacres in Myanmar was advocating for human rights for a while. But this racist, the genocidal policy is on a hiding to nothing. They will never succeed. The international community, especially the UN, need to take urgent steps that are applicable to this area.” (ILKHA)
