HUDA PAR: Stop killing Muslim in Burma
HUDA PAR headquarters published evaluation on the agenda, made calls to stop the massacres against Arakanese Muslims, and made an important statement on the referendum that going to be held in Iraqi Kurdistan.
In the agenda evaluation published by HUDA PAR Headquarters, important statements were made about the events in Arakan, the referendum debates in Iraqi Kurdistan, the school expenses for the 2017-2018 academic year and the increase in fuel prices.
While call made to the Islamic world to act for the stop of massacres against Arakanese Muslims, important statements were made about the referendum to be held in Iraqi Kurdistan on 25 September.
Stressing the problems of the academic year which repeat every year, in the evaluation of the agenda it is said, “The high school fees and the “enrollment deposit” applied to some schools have already taken place on the agenda. This application which forms great problem, especially for low-income families, should be resolved permanently that not going to be on the public agenda again. Despite all the prohibitions, in some schools, the demand for money in the astronomical amount from parents under the name of the registry is a violation of the equality of opportunity under the constitutional guarantee.”
“The quality of education for each student in accordance with the principle of equality is one of the main responsibilities of the state,” said in the statement and added that, “The government should make effective follow-up and audit to fulfill this responsibility. To ensure that the quality of education of all schools is maximized and that everyone benefits equally from these opportunities, the state resources should be distributed fairly to every region and every point of the country. At the beginning of the school year, we invite the authorities to take precautions in order to approach the issue sensitively and to take necessary measures so that the scenes that public opinion witnessed in previous years do not repeat.”
Referendum debates in Iraqi Kurdistan
The following statements were made to evaluate the continuity of the discussions on the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government's decision on independence regarding the referendum:
“After the Kirkuk Provincial Assembly's decision to participate in the referendum, the discussions on this issue began to be on agenda again. We believe that unity of brotherhood and unity with the just system is an essential part, not the division of the parts that consist the Ummah. Muslim societies can come together and generate administrations based on justice regardless with their language, sect, and ethnic roots. Muslim societies should come together and try to form stronger governments instead of small states. There are many examples of this in the history of Islam. When Muslim communities came together with the Islamic justice and join together then they have formed strong states. They have made the protectorate of oppressed societies and have found stability.”
“As we do not want anywhere in the world that the Muslim communities to enter into the war and chaos, also today we do not want Iraq to come into the midst of civil war and chaos, as it is now on the agenda with the independence referendum,” said in the statement and the following assessment was made:
“We believe that it is not right to divide when there is to live together, to establish a strong and powerful state. But if the conditions of cohabitation have been lifted, if there no justice in the division of state sources and administrative system; being a neighboring country in peace can be better than a civil war. The measures and criteria should be applied to the Iraqi Kurdistan Administration, as it applies to the state for two hundred members of the United Nations. Approaches like ‘The Kurds can never establish a state’ or ‘The Kurds should never be allowed to form a state’ or ‘The nation state is just forbidden to the Kurds’ are not righteous approach. Everybody must respect the will of the people of Iraqi Kurdistan.”
The Arakan
In the statement emphasizing the massacres carried out by the Myanmar Government and Buddhist gangs with courage from the silence of the world public and the internal strife of the Islamic world, the following expressions were used:
“The persecution and exiles which continue for a long time still continue with persecution and massacres. Myanmar Government and Buddhist gangs, encouraged by the silence of the world public and the internal strife of the Islamic world, are continuing to increase the persecution they have imposed on our oppressed Muslim brothers and sisters in Arakan. The situation of Arakanese Muslims who do not want to return to their homeland due to the persecution of the Buddhist Myanmar Government and the gangs has become a human tragedy. Even though they live in extreme conditions in places where they are exiled.”
“We are condemning the Myanmar government and the Buddhist gangs for their crimes against humanity, and we invite the world public to fulfill their legal and the human responsibilities and invite the Muslim world to back their brothers.”
Fuel prices
It was stated that high fuel prices were a serious constraint on people's freedom of travel.
“One of the countries where the fuel prices are the highest is in Turkiye. The main reason why the fuel prices are abnormally high are taxes within the fact that the distribution companies' unqualified and uncontrolled price practices.”
“The current pricing mechanism of the fuel is not in line with the predicted social goals and the desired standard of living to be achieved. When the high taxes paid on vehicle purchases, exorbitant bridges and highways fees combined with the fuel prices, citizens are actually restricting the freedom of travel which just on paper. Fuel taxation mechanism should be review with the new economic viewpoint and the principle of fair distribution of prosperity in society.” (Hamza Adiyaman - ILKHA)
